Our Story
A Tampa appliance business built one honest repair at a time
Appliance Repair Specialists was founded in 1997, when Lance Kimball left Maytag to open his own appliance business in Tampa. He started as an authorized Maytag servicer, running a small dealership that sold and serviced new appliances.
A few years in, at his first United Appliance Servicers Association convention, other owners told him the same thing: your name says Maytag, but your skills say every brand. He registered the name Appliance Repair Specialists and opened the doors to every manufacturer that came through them.
By 2008, big box retailers had reshaped appliance sales, and Lance made the call to leave new appliance sales behind and put everything into service. That decision defined the company. For close to two decades since, Appliance Repair Specialists has done one thing: fix appliances, and fix them right.
